Responsible for developing evaluating and implementing new test/equipment methodologies or products for the laboratory under the intellectual and scientific guidance of laboratory directors and staff consultants. Responsible for: 1 Improvement of existing methods or implementation of new technology of proven validity; 2 Maintain complete and accurate documentation of data generated and work performed; 3 Organizing new method validation data preparing data for publication and peer review and participating in formal presentations within the institution; 4 Aiding in the investigation installation evaluation and purchase of laboratory equipment instrumentation reagent systems and other specialty items and 5 Participates in the training of laboratory staff residents and students in principles of methods and application within the laboratory as needed.

Bachelors or Masters degree in Medical Technology or a related field. Minimum 3 years of laboratory experience.
Additional Skills and Qualifications:
Excellent leadership organizational written and verbal communication and problemsolving skills. Selfmotivation and attention to detail. Ability to reproduce a reference method using available procedures without supervision. Demonstrated analytical and scientific competency with development and/or validation of lab techniques or procedures. Proficiency in software for word processing database management statistical analysis and presentations. (e.g. Word Excel PowerPoint). Maintains a record of scientific presentations and peerreviewed publications.
License or Certification:
Certification by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or other certification pertinent to the laboratory field may be required depending on the laboratory specialty and prevailing regulatory requirements.
