Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Recruit Mint is actively seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical bias) to join our esteemed client who are a leading manufacturing company in the Peterborough area.

As the onsite Maintenance Engineer you will work in collaboration with the production team to enhance plant productivity identifying improvements and ensuring availability of spare parts and equipment. You will investigate breakdowns record repairs and address recurring faults.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative electrical and mechanical maintenance on manufacturing machinery
  • Rapidly respond to and repair breakdowns minimising downtime
  • Collaborate with the production team to identify and implement productivity improvements
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities
  • Ensure the availability and proper management of spare parts and equipment
  • Diagnose and repair issues in single and threephase systems servo motors AC motors sensors and various control systems
  • Execute electrical installations including lighting and small power
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
  • Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and systems

Person Specification

  • Experience of working on machinery within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Ability to disassemble machine assemblies to individual components and reassemble them
  • Proficient in diagnosing issues in single and threephase systems servo motors AC motors sensors and various control systems
  • Knowledge of electrical installations including lighting and small power
  • Familiarity with PLC electronics beneficial
  • Mechanically adept
  • Skilled in handling drive train systems rollers gearboxes shafts pneumatics and some hydraulics
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is preferred but not essential as time served would be considered
  • Strong communication skills and excellent organisational skills

Hours of Work Pay and Benefits

  • Up to 50000
  • Sunday to Thursday
  • 10:00pm to 6:00am
