Augustana University invites applications for the position of Spirit Shops Manager. This fulltime administrative position operates on a 10 month schedule (August through May) Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with some adjusted hours to accommodate athletic events.
The Spirit Shops Manager drives sales manages inventory ensures an exceptional shopping experience and upholds brand integrity. Strong communication skills and a passion for team leadership are essential for success in this role.
The duties competencies and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Maintain daily operations of the Spirit Shops.
- Responsible for adequate daily staffing and scheduling of the Spirit Shops during regular business hours admissions athletics and other university events.
- Collaborate with Spirit Shops Buyer to manage product inventory and ensures the proper assortment of merchandise.
- Fulfill online orders quickly and efficiently
- In conjunction with Communications and Strategic Marketing advertises and markets the spirit store to ensure that products sales and special events are visible and accessible
- Responsible for accurately reporting sales transactions inventory daily deposits and reporting
- Regularly communicate with the administrative staff in all areas to ensure the spirit store has a visual presence at applicable university events.
- Compliance with all university policies.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing work scope and tasks based on need.
- Proactively engages in problemsolving related to tasks with internal and external people in this position.
- Serves as a member of the Housing Dining and Facility Operations Team
Qualifications for this position:
- Associate degree or equivalent 60 semester hours) or applicable experience in retail management.
- Proficient use of the Microsoft Office suite and pointofsale software systems.
- Supervisory Experience
- 24 years of retail experience preferably in apparel or spirit wear sales.
- Strong customer service skills with a proven track record of creating positive shopping experiences.
- Working understanding of retail functions including merchandising inventory management and pointofsale (POS) systems.
- Supervisory experience with the ability to train mentor and oversee workstudy students or parttime staff.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage store operations effectively.
- Ability to generate and analyze complex sales and inventory reports to drive informed business decisions is preferred.
- Ability to adapt to outdoor working conditions during events including cooler temperatures in the fall season is helpful.
