Our client a nonprofit communitybased organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Administrator to join their team in Halifax Nova Scotia for a contract opportunity. The ideal candidate is a team player with full cycle accounts payable experience who values a collaborative and inclusive environment and is keen to be part of a meaningful organization with a community focus.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Review code and enter invoices
  • Review invoices and travel claims for compliance and accuracy
  • Vendor statement reconciliations
  • Weekly biweekly and monthly cheque runs and EFTs
  • Maintain records and spreadsheets
  • Yearend support relating to AP

Experience & Attributes for Success:

  • Postsecondary education in accounting or business
  • 3 5 years of focused AP experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office particular Excel
  • Experience using Sage software is a strong asset but not required
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organization skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proven problem solving skills and efficiency
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
