Lean Specialist CoOp Fall 2025

The Role:
Our site in Colorado Springs CO is seeking a/an Lean Specialist CoOp to join our team for the Fall 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.

In this role you will learn how to apply Lean Manufacturing initiatives to: Eliminate Waste and its negative factor on cost; Improve Quality stay ahead of our competitor and delivering to and exceeding our customers expectations; Reduce Cost reduce inventory and labor costs through improved material and production process management; and Reduce Time increase manufacturing and process efficiencies to shorten customer lead times.

What Youll Do:
Assist in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and techniques in production operations.
Conduct time studies and analyze data to identify areas for improvement in production processes.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop and implement process improvements.
Participate in lean training programs and apply learned principles to realworld situations.
Lead or participate in GEMBA walks and drive CI culture across plant functional areas.
Identify and troubleshoot issues in production processes to ensure efficiency and quality.
Monitor and track key performance indicators to measure the success of lean initiatives.
Contribute to the development of standard work procedures and visual management tools.
Work closely with production supervisors and operators to identify areas of waste and implement solutions.
Participate in continuous improvement projects and provide recommendations for process optimization.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of lean documentation and training materials.

What We Seek:
Analytical and ProblemSolving Skills: The ability to analyze data identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
Proficient in Excel Outlook Word Visio Power Point and Visio (Value stream mapping)
Strong interpersonal and problemsolving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team and to lead small project group

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
Pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in manufacturing Industrial Mechanical Electrical Engineering or similar.
Graduating in December 2025 or later

Eligibility:
Must be a currently enrolled student
Available to work 40 hours a week MF 8a5p) beginning in July through December
Must be familiar with the universitys requirements to participate in a coop program

Compensation: $20$32 per hour range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
