Position Summary
The Department of Journalism and Public Relations in the School of Liberal Arts at IU Indianapolis invites applications for a tenuretrack position in Journalism and New Media (open rank) with an expected appointment start date of August 1 2025. This position is a 10month tenuretrack appointment to teach courses in journalism/mass communication communication theory and foundations new media law and ethics. Ability to teach applied skills including multimedia storytelling video/audio podcasting data visualization and interactive media tools is preferred. This position is benefitseligible with the opportunity for promotion. This new position will help lead curriculum restructuring toward more digital focused media inclusive and professional career tracks. The successful candidate will: Understand and be able to develop tools related to Journalism and AI as well as mobile media production and communication. Have expertise in highimpact practices and internship coordination and assessment. Demonstrate promise for ongoing scholarly research in journalism new media technology and communication social impact of new media legal aspects of new media and/or other relevant areas of inquiry appropriate for rank. Ideally have administrative experience.
