The Clinical Therapies Program Manager Speech Pathology oversees all clinical responsibilities in the respective areas of practice. In addition the Program Manager is responsible for overseeing daytoday operations involved in the planning coordination and provision of his/her departments clinical services including being a liaison. Ensures that all clinical staff and clinical equipment meet standards established by Nationwide Childrens Hospital and external regulatory agencies.
Demonstrates competencies defined * in Program Manager responsibilities in providing ageappropriate and developmentallyappropriate care to patients from the age of birth through 21 years and select adult patients.
Essential Functions:
The Clinical Therapies Program Manager supports communicates implements and enforces the philosophy mission values standards policies and procedures of Nationwide Childrens Hospital.
1.Performs all clinical duties and meets all minimum qualifications established for therespective area of practice.
2. Participates in the development of a scheduling system to improve efficiency and coordinate patient care.
3. Proposes and justifies clinical services; forecasts staffing supply and equipment needs and annual expense and capital budgets for the department.
4. Participates in recruiting of candidates and makes hire recommendations.
5. Prepares performance evaluations and recommends salary adjustments.As necessary recommends disciplinary actions and/or termination of staff.
6. Compiles information regarding staff productivity on a regular basis and provides summaries as requested.Monitors time and attendance information.
7. Monitors staff schedules to ensure coverage; as necessary serves as backup in the event of absence.Assigns work and serves as a resource in resolution of clinical or other issues.
8.Collaborates with the Education Department and universities to develop education contracts and coordinate student experiences. Coordinates and supervises activities of students.
9.Actively participates in departmental planning and implementation of programs.
10.Reviews and processes requests for materials supplies and new equipment.
11.Reviews and provides input into departmental job descriptions.
12.Attends leadership meetings; conducts regular departmental meetings to provide information to staff.
13.Communicates coordinates and collaborates with departmental medical director as appropriate.
14.Meets regularly with immediate supervisor.
15.Coordinates departmental performance improvement activities.
16.Acts as a departmental liaison with internal departments and external agencies.
17.Participates in educational activities to enhance age appropriate developmentallyappropriate and cultural interventions.
Education Requirement: Meets the education experience and licensure/certification requirements of the appropriate clinical job description.

Certifications:
CPR certification must be received no later than 60 days post hire or 60 days post expiration.
Skills:
Experience: Three to five years leadership experience in a progressive therapy department.Pediatric therapy leadership experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to hear speak read and perform manual tasks with or without accommodation and care for oneself with little or no difficulty. Will require the ability to travel.
