PGLS is looking for an SlovenianTemporary Language Tester for a short term assignment at the School of Language Studies at the Foreign Service Institute. Assignment datesApril
Must be certified as a Tester by FSI LTU within the first4 months of start date.
May participate in the creation and piloting of newmaterials and tasks to be used in language testing.
May participate in the production of audio or videomaterials for use in conjunction with LTU testing training.
Collaborate with COR ACOR GTM and/or others to leadthe reviewing and editing of foreign language and/or English in testingmaterials.
Adhere to all copyright guidelines and restrictions andfollow FSI and SLS procedures regarding copyright.
Adhere to all guidelines and follow all proceduresregarding testing material security and safeguarding test score data.
English proficiency of S3 or higher (ILR scale) inspeaking documented (preferably certified through an approved thirdparty vendor). If documentation of English level is notprovided the Language Testing Unit will conduct language screening todetermine if the candidate meets general professional proficiency.
Native language proficiency of S4/R4 or higher (ILRscale) in speaking and reading (preferably documented and certified through an approvedthirdparty vendor). If documentationof native language level is not provided the Language Testing Unit willconduct language screening to determine if the candidate meets advanced professionalproficiency.
Knowledge of basic computer skills: e.g. emailMicrosoft Office Suite and familiarity with online meeting software (ZoomSkype MS Teams) etcetera.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience conducting proficiencybased tests (e.g.DLAB ACTFL OPI) in one or more foreign languages tested at FSI.
BA/BS MA/MS or PhD in language testing evaluation andmeasurement educational assessment applied linguistics second languageacquisition or related field.
Experience in designing and/or selecting testingmaterials.
Experience with online delivery systems used toadminister proficiencybased exams.
