Your Role as a Cost Manager
As a Cost Manager youll be an integral part of ensuring the project remains on track on budget and delivers maximum value. You will:
- Cost Planning and Management: Develop monitor and manage project budgets from inception to completion.
- Forecasting and Reporting: Prepare and present accurate cost forecasts and reports to the project team and stakeholders.
- Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining the quality and scope of the project.
- Change Control: Manage the cost implications of project changes and ensure robust change management processes are in place.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with multidisciplinary teams including project managers engineers and contractors to ensure alignment on project goals and financial outcomes.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify cost risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise financial exposure.
- Contract Management: Provide costrelated input for procurement strategies and oversee contractor cost submissions in line with contractual requirements.
What Youll Need to Succeed
- Demonstrable experience in cost management within largescale energy or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with relevant contracts such as NEC and experience in managing costrelated aspects of these.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver clear actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to problemsolving in a fastpaced environment.
