Job Description
PartTime Ceramics Faculty
Highland Community College is accepting applications for a parttime Ceramics (Pottery) Instructor to teach Pottery I & II. A MFA in Art/Ceramics or a Masters in Art Degree with documentable experience in ceramics is required. The successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of how a Ceramics Studio functions and operates. This includes proficiency in clay mixing hand building wheel throwing and sculptural techniques. A broad knowledge of electric kiln stacking loading and firing and experience with the formulation and application of glazes engobes and stains is also required. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching at the college level.
Parttime faculty are responsible for instruction and facilitation of student learning student recruitment and retention assessment of student learning and the development of curriculum.
Salary is $600 $677 per contact hour.
