Position Summary
The UNCG Center for Housing and Community Studies seeks six to eight parttime community researchers to participate in a study of housing conditions repairs and housing code enforcement methods and the effect of different enforcement methods on health equity in Greensboro neighborhoods. Each researcher will work for a period of up to fourteen months with flexible schedules averaging twenty hours per week at a rate of pay of $20.00 per hour. This work funded by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation will include a series of related research activities. The community researchers will have three principal responsibilities: 1. At the start of the study period they will join an Advisory Committee which will oversee the project meet at periodic intervals and participate in planning the research activities 2. During the first two months they will participate in research methods training and 3. During the remaining approximately twelve months from September 2024 to September 2025 they will (a) conduct survey research in selected Greensboro neighborhoods canvassing doortodoor or at places of community gathering and (b) facilitate focus groups and roundtable discussions of housing conditions repairs and code enforcement.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicant must be dependable and great with people and must care about the wellbeing of the neighborhood. Previous research experience is not required.
