MastersDegree in Nursing

CertificationsRequired:

CRNAsmust have a national certification through the American Association of NurseAnaesthesiology (AANA).

ACLS/CPR/BLScertificate by the American Heart Association is required.

License:

Licensedpersonnel assigned by the Professionals to perform services covered by thiscontract shall be currently certified or licensed as appropriate in anyState Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or the District ofColumbia. All licenses held by the personnel working on this contract shall befully valid and without restriction. The qualifications of such personnel shallalso be subject to review by the VA Chief of Staff and approval by the VA FacilityDirector. The Government specifically reserves the right to reject and of theIndividuals personnel and refuse them permission to provide services underthis contract.

Credentialingand Privileging:

Credentialingand privileging is to be done in accordance with the provisions of VHA Handbook1100.19 referenced above. The individual is responsible to ensure that proposedprofessional staff possesses the requisite credentials enabling the granting ofprivileges. No services shall be provided by individual staff prior toobtaining approval by the VA.

If individual personnel are not credentialedand privileged or has credentials/privileges suspended or revoked theindividual shall furnish an acceptable substitute without any additional costto the government. Professional staff shall not begin work until final approvalis obtained from the contracting officer.

Individuals will provide appropriateeffective interventions to individual patients needs according to establishedfacility policies safety standards and procedures as described at the orientationsand trainings conducted by VHA Education Department.

TechnicalProficiency:

Individualstaff shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfil thegovernments requirements including the ability to speak understand read andwrite English fluently. CRNAs shall provide verifiable evidence of alleducational and training experiences including any gaps in educational historyfor all professional staff and all Individuals shall be responsible for abidingby the Facilitys Medical Staff ByLaws rules and regulations (referencedherein) that govern medical staff behaviour.

Training(ACLS BLS CPRS and VA MANDATORY):

Individualstaff shall meet all VA educational requirements and mandatory courserequirements defined herein; all training must be completed by the Individualsstaff as required by the VA. All employees who will be working on this contractand require access to VA information and VA information systems are required tocomplete the following training before being granted access to VA informationand its systems:
VA Privacy and Information Security Awareness and Rules of Behaviour(annually)
Mandatory Training for Transient Staff (annually)
