As part of the US Business Development (BD) team this role will provide full proposal lifecycle support across the US practices ensuring that responses are completed in an efficient consistent and professional manner. Strong organizational skills creative thinking a proven ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects together with excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate is selfmotivated and works well independently and as part of a collaborative team.

This position is ideally based in Texas however we will consider candidates in any location where we have an office. The position will report to a Senior Manager.

The manager may work remotely on a regular basis. All personnel absent those with an approved accommodation are expected to be in the office under certain circumstances including but not limited to client business needs; firm business travel; participating in firm group or team meetings/events; at the request of their supervisor; when needed to serve a client or accomplish a task for the firm that requires inoffice attendance etc. Eligibility for remote work requires you to be in good standing with the firm and may be modified or revoked at the discretion of the firm.

The Role

A significant focus of this role will be to work with partners and the Business Development team to respond to RFPs drive best practices throughout the proposal process and provide strategic and project management support.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and driving the preparation of proposals
  • Coordinate input and gather insights from multiple sources including pricing legal professionals legal project management and competitive intelligence
  • Develop and manage relationships and work collaboratively with business development peers in practice areas sectors and client teams
  • Provide project management support and information resources in order that strategic and panel responses are completed in an efficient consistent and professional manner
  • Write edit and manage uptodate practice and experience descriptions and copy
  • Support the auditing of existing materials to evaluate strategy and create new copy and approaches as appropriate
  • Update and maintain the opportunities module tracking system and assist in the creation of leadership reports
  • Direct coordination with partners and key stakeholders of the firm
  • Coordinate and collaborate with colleagues on a global level for interregion and panel opportunities
  • Prepare placemats and client presentations as requested

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a proposals function preferably in a law firm
  • Strong research and writing skills as well as superior proofreading skills and attention to detail
  • Strong professional presence comfortable interacting and collaborating with lawyers other professionals and staff within the firm; possesses diplomacy enthusiasm perseverance and a sense of humor
  • A selfstarter who can work on own initiative and is proactive in developing solutions
  • Ability to liaise confidently and build relationships with people at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills and ability to manage workload
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Suite (including direct experience with Word PowerPoint and advanced functions within Excel); PERSUIT and experience management systems a plus
  • Promotes and demonstrates our business principles of quality unity and integrity
  • Bachelors degree required
