Whats The Job We are seeking a Food Scientist with a passion for new ingredient qualification current ingredient optimization and new product innovation. This role will play a pivotal part in enhancing ingredient functionality improving product formulations and supporting new concept development from ideation to commercialization.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in ingredient development or ingredient applications and a background in Food Science Chemistry Nutrition or a related field of study.. They must also have handson experience with analytical chemistry experimental design (DOE) and statistical analysis to drive datainformed decisionmaking. This is an exciting opportunity to work on nextgeneration ingredient solutions enhance product nutrition and support the rapid development of oatbased protein coffee products in addition to new product platforms still in concept development
What Youll Be Doing Stop Scanning and Read This Part
- Evaluate and qualify new ingredients based on functionality sensory impact nutritional value and processing compatibility.
- Assess and optimize current ingredients to enhance product quality shelf life and cost efficiency.
- Develop datadriven ingredient specifications and collaborate with suppliers to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Analyze ingredient interactions and conduct experimental research to enhance formulation performance
- Support the development of new product concepts by testing novel ingredient applications.
- Design and execute DOE (Design of Experiments) to systematically evaluate and optimize formulations.
- Work closely with crossfunctional teams (R&D Quality Manufacturing) to scale up new formulas from bench to fullscale production.
- Utilize analytical chemistry techniques to assess ingredient stability interactions and performance.
- Contribute to cleanlabel innovation incorporating functional sustainable and consumerpreferred ingredients.
- Develop process optimizations that improve ingredient incorporation product consistency and overall efficiency.
- Conduct shelflife and sensory studies to validate product performance over time.
- Implement analytical testing protocols to ensure ingredient and finished product compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
What Youve Done and Who You Are
- B.Sc. in Food Science Chemistry (or related field).
- 2 years of experience in ingredient development ingredient application or formulation optimization.
- Handson experience with analytical chemistry for ingredient and product evaluation.
- Proficiency in DOE (Design of Experiments) and statistical analysis for formulation testing and improvement.
- Familiarity with ingredient sourcing regulatory compliance and product labeling requirements.
- Familiar with project management principles and application.
- Highly acute sense of taste and smell
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in understanding of food industry standards of quality and foods safety and FDA regulations.
- Proficient in experimental design and application of statistics to interpret experimental data and assess product and process capability
- Experience working with plantbased ingredients highprotein formulations or functional food components.
- Knowledge of sensory analysis hydrocolloids emulsifiers and enzymemodified ingredient applications.
- Familiarity with Genesis or other formulation software for nutritional calculations.
