Job Description
Operations & Administration: Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for Student Health Services including oversight of the efforts of over 40 multidisciplinary staff members including administrative and clinical staff. Optimize and monitor administrative procedures policies and systems. Manage and prepare Student Health Services annual budget as well as short and longrange budget forecasts in partnership with the Student Success Finance Manager and AVP Student Wellness. Liaison with MSU shared services to ensure consistency in policy compliance workflow and process across the institution (e.g. fiscal shared services University IT Services University Communications Human Resources). Identify and resolve issues manage change and escalate issues to achieve desired outcome. Collaborate with managers to develop report and deliver on relevant key performance indicators and departmental metrics. Ensure compliance with the requirements of AAAHC ethical codes state and federal laws HIPPA FERPA university and applicable MUS System Health Care policies. Periodically negotiate/advocate for the student health insurance plan. Lead and/or participate in departmental committees (e.g. SHS leadership Quality Improvement AAAHC work group). Manage risk in partnership with other MSU leaders such as department of Risk Management Legal Counsel Facilities and Operations. Participate in integrated care efforts to further operationalize a seamless student experience within the Student Health Partners group (Student Health Counseling & Psychological Services Health Advancement) and the Student Wellness area overall. Foster a strong commitment to inclusion fostering appreciation of diversity and the provision of culturally competent and equitable patient care and workplace practices. Serve as functioning advisor and seek feedback from Student Health Advisory Committee: Create opportunities to solicit feedback from students and student leaders and incorporate student feedback into decisionmaking. Serve on the leadership team for the Student Wellness area and represent Student Health on university committees and projects. In collaboration with Chief Medical Officer and MSU Emergency Management ensure appropriate healthrelated emergency preparedness and response and provide institutional leadership in matters of student and public health issues that impact the University. Supervise (hire orient train schedule coach manage) direct reports. Provide departmental structure for the onboarding offboarding and development experiences of all departmental staff.
