Job Description
Providence Staffings client is seeking a Director of Engineering for their office in Birmingham AL. The Director of Engineering will serve as the technical lead overseeing the daytoday operations of all engineering activities. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering efforts are aligned with the established policies and objectives of the company.
Major Job Activities:
- Lead and mentor the engineering team fostering a culture of excellence innovation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee recruitment training and development of engineering staff to build a highperforming team.
- Providence technical leadership and guidance on complex engineering projects ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Review and approve engineering designs plans and specifications to ensure quality and compliance with project management.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure engineering projects are delivered on time within scope and within budget.
- Monitor project progress and performance identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies and initiatives that align with the companys goals and objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements technological advancements and innovation in engineering practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients stakeholders and industry partners.
- Represent client in meetings presentations and conferences promoting the companys expertise and capabilities.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant regulations codes and standards.
- Implement quality assurance in processes to maintain high standards of engineering excellence.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong technical expertise in civil engineering design and project management.
- Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fastpaced environment.
- Demonstrated experience in building and leading highperforming engineering teams.
