Job Description

Job Summary:

The Clinical Laboratory Specimen Receiving Assistant Supervisor helps oversee overall operations of the Receiving areas and will cover Phlebotomy areas in the Managers absence. Responsible for various administration functions; Interview hire procedures/policies complete & sign off on performance evaluations and review training/orientation with new staff. Monitors personnel problems (i.e. frequent errors attendance problems inappropriate behavior and counsels on asneeded basis. Answer questions from outside clients regarding test ordering drawing and registration of patients. Incumbent will work under the direction of the supervisor and assist in administrative duties. Candidate is expected to perform Receiving Processing and Phlebotomy duties as needed. Visit all patient service centers to assess needs and concerns.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree in Medical Technology or related field and four years of clinical laboratory experience required. Supervisory experience required. Must be licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Technician with NYSED. *If incumbent does not have Associates degree must have Clinical Laboratory Technician license with NYSED by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Supervisory experience in a medical setting preferred. 1 year experience in laboratory receiving preferred. EPIC knowledge also preferred.

Work Days:

MondayFriday Days weekends and holidays may be required.
