LOCATION: Hybrid Model* when working onsite you will report to the location of City Hall.

SALARY GRADE: 9

SALARY RANGE: 1ST STEP: $79406.60 per annum

2ND STEP: $83610.80 per annum

JOB RATE: $87978.80 per annum

The City of Brampton is currently hiring an Analyst Investment Services! If you have research and data experience or familiar with GIS and database applications then check out thisopportunity!

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Reporting to the Expeditor to provide research analysis and support for Business Attraction Marketing and Competitive Policy Analysis projects that are integral to the Citys Economic Development Program. Identify and analyze relevant data and literature to extract key insights trends and potential policy implications related to the Brampton economy.

  • Conduct research and analysis related to various areas to establish marketability of property and establish historical and current trends.
  • Develop and maintain a database of property ownership to assist program staff with investment and market inquiries to prospective clients.
  • Develop and maintain a database of customers that are involved or have expressed interest in direct marketing.
  • Develop and maintain data content for the Economic Development Invest Brampton website.
  • Perform analysis of external third party and related research or reports.
  • Compile and distribute statistical reports that include key performance indicators of program success in the City.
  • Track progress on City of Brampton and/or Region of Peel initiated capital projects affecting the infrastructure and property in the City.
  • Assist in creating reports to Committee/Council.
  • Attend meetings to provide technical or specialist support to internal and external stakeholders Committee and Council.
  • Liaise with staff from various departments to facilitate information exchange identify issues and upcoming projects.
  • Conducts site inspections and tours.
  • Other similar and related duties as assigned.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

EDUCATION:

  • High School (Grade 12 graduation plus an additional program of over two and up to three years or equivalent (Diploma/Degree in Geography Environmental Studies Urban Planning Architecture Economic Development) or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Over two 2 years up to and including four 4 years experience in a research environment in a municipal economic development town planning public works or small business support setting.

REQUIRED LICENCE CERTIFICATION:

      • Must possess a valid class G drivers license with possession and use of own vehicle.

OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS:

  • Must possess a valid class G drivers license with possession and use of own vehicle.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applications such as MS Office Database applications G.I.S. and website content/authoring tools
  • Working knowledge of desktop publishing applications
  • Familiarity with the municipal government legislative and regulatory context
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service.
