Job Description
The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a Facilities Technician to install maintain and repair manufacturing equipment and fixtures.
The Technician will conduct basic maintenance activities primarily on machinery and related equipment; maintain repair and maintenance records and troubleshoot problems and escalate nonroutine and complex issues.
This role will be a fulltime position based out of our Morrisville NC office.
Work Schedule: Monday Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm.
What were looking for:
- Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of maintenance mechanical or electrical experience in an industrial or educational setting.
- Thorough understanding of maintenance Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance and Process Safety Management best practices preferred.
- Experience working in an ISO Certified FDA Regulated or cGMP environment preferred.
- Additional Qualifications:
- Industry experience with machine setup fundamentals and solid troubleshooting skills desired.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Adaptable and selfmotivated.
- Equipment/facility maintenance technical understanding basic safety standards as well as knowledge of power tool usage.
- General to intermediate understanding of compressors pneumatic systems emaintenance systems.
- Basic carpentry drywall painting and plumbing skills.
- Ability to repair electrical/mechanical machinery throughout the site; necessary skills include electrical pneumatics PLC logic.

- Maintain equipment parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations.
- Maintain accurate history logs for all machines for use in identifying and diagnosing problems.
- Assist in troubleshooting repairs and maintains electrical and electronic circuitry hydraulic systems plumbing valving filters tanks pumps etc.
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on pneumatic equipment and production machines; following operations manuals manufacturers instructions and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Repair/maintain all facility equipment.
- Focus on improving machine performance to minimize downtime through prior planning and quick thorough machine repairs.
- Provide maintenance support for production personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Work environment consists of warehouse office and cleanroom areas.
Required to stand and walk for a large part of the workday. Physical requirements include ability to use tools climb ladders and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Performance of various repetitive actions.
