Job Description

Manages assigned teams within the audiological services department at Boys Town National Research Hospital (BTNRH) and ancillary clinics. Manages assigned staff audiologists and administrative support staff. Maintains appropriate staffing to meet patient and clinic needs oversees daytoday operations assists with escalated issues coaches and mentors staff and aligns with top level leadership.

SCHEDULE: MondayFriday 8a5p

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Manages work and staffing assignments of clinical and support staff as well as student externs which may include monthly staff meetings and educational topics.

  • Completes employee evaluations for clinical and/or support staff as assigned.

  • Coordinates closely with leadership to maintain appropriate staffing and availability of clinical services. Evaluates needs for expansion of services as needed.

  • Recommends solutions/data around budget policy development employee evaluations personnel issues and equipment acquisition for the Audiology Division.

  • Performs a wide range of routine and advanced audiological tests as necessary to determine the type and extent of hearing and vestibular disorders appropriate assistive devices proper referrals and followup services.

  • Manages assignment and prioritization of special projects multidisciplinary teams educational programs and/or clinical research studies.

  • Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to coordinate multiple schedules oversee educational programming and manage daytoday personnel issues.

  • Ability to apply knowledge and skills in the administration and interpretation of routine and specialized audiologic procedures.

  • Ability to operate clinical equipment including microcomputers and other specialized devices necessary for the daily operation of the service.

  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to apply skill in administrative duties: budgeting equipment acquisitions educational programming and employee evaluation.

  • Ability to participate as part of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Demonstrated managerial and administrative skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an ETB accredited college or university required.

  • Minimum of five years experience in direct audiologic services to hearingimpaired patients of all ages required.

  • Have or be eligible for appropriate state licensing and must hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American SpeechLanguageHearing Association (ASHA) within 1 one year of transfer or hire required.

  • Knowledge and understanding of hearing disorders for patients of all ages required.

  • Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative(CITI) certification within 30 days of transfer or hire required.

  • Other Duties: This job description incorporates the essential functions and duties required for this position. However other duties may be required and assigned at times and as determined by a supervisor in order to meet the needs of the organization.

  • Serves as a role model in carrying out activities and behaviors that reflect the values and principles of the Boys Town mission.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS EQUIPMENT USAGE WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks. Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop monitor keyboard and a general workstation setup. Occasionally subject to loud noise vibrations moving mechanical parts electrical current chemicals fumes odors dusts mists gases or poor ventilation oils and other cutting fluids.
