Job Description

Established in 2001 Southeast Orthopedic Specialists is a regional leader in orthopedic medicine. We are dedicated to growing with our patients. As Southeast Orthopedic Specialists continues to grow we are looking for a Accountant. Please see below for the functions and requirements for this position

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer systems to include proficient use of accounting software

  • Process employee expense reports.

  • Account reconciliations

  • P&L analysis

  • Credit card management inquiries and journal

  • Bank account balance management

  • Cash balance analysis

  • Daily deposit reports to revenue cycle o Positive pay reports/uploads

  • Deposit checks

  • Closing monthly journal entries

  • Accrue revenue monthend

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 35 years experience as an accountant or financial analyst
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a staff accountant including experience with accounting software.Experience with QuickBooks accounting software is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of excel and accounting software.

  • Knowledge of basic mathematics.

SKILLS

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Skill in computer applications and software
  • Skill in maintaining effective working relationships with internal employees.
  • Skill in managing multiple projects and assignments.
  • Strong attention to detail

ABILITIES

  • Ability to understand and interpret policies and procedures.

  • Ability to prepare documents in response to complaints and audits.

  • Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with providers employees and the public.

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment.

  • Coachable teamplayer.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Normal office environment.
  • Some travel within the community.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.

  • Some bending and stretching are required.

  • Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
