Job Description

Position Summary
Austin Peay State University invites applications for Conservation Coordinator for the Tennessee Plant Conservation Alliance within the Dept. of Biology and Center for Field Biology. The successful candidates primary role will be to serve as the coordinator for the statewide TN Plant Conservation Alliance program. Some publishing development of plant conservation curricula and grantwriting is expected. Two year initial position. Continuation of employment based on continued grant funding.

Essential Functions
Navigate groups through meetings negotiating project details with colleagues from multiple institutions developing projects into programs motivating students and volunteers and empowering others to dedicate themselves to their work out of sense of responsibility to plant conservation. Understand basic natural history ecology and vegetation of eastern North America. coordinating ontheground projects including projects focused on specieslevel conservation and broader community restoration. Coordinate projects with diverse individuals and groups including the general public private landowners gardeners agency personnel volunteers nonprofit staff undergraduate and graduate students faculty staff and high schoolaged children.
