Seasonal Groundskeeper Parks Department
Pay Rate: $17.25 per hour
Hours: Generally 7:00 AM 3:30 PM (flexible) Immediate start available
Job Overview:
The Deerfield Park District is hiring parttime and seasonal Groundskeepers for the Parks Department. If youre a selfmotivated and responsible individual who enjoys working outdoors this is a great opportunity! Join our team to help maintain and enhance our parks athletic fields playgrounds and landscape areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance of park grounds buildings athletic fields playgrounds and shelters.
- Mow trim aerate irrigate overseed and install sod for turf maintenance.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment including mowers trimmers blowers and small hand tools.
- Repair and install fences picnic tables benches and playground equipment.
- Remove garbage debris and snow from park areas shelters and pathways.
- Assist with special event setup and takedown.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid drivers license required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending kneeling and climbing.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping equipment and safety procedures preferred.
