Job Description

Whats needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelors degree in Computer science information technology engineering supply chain management
  • 5 years of experience in procurement systems: invoicing sourcing catalog management contract management vendor management and other functions under procurement.
  • Hands on experience in any procurement systems such as Coupa Ariba Ivalua and similar.
  • Experienced in leading product owners product managers system analysts or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of procuretopay processes and sourcetocontract process and how they are implemented in procurement systems like Coupa.
  • Expert in P2P systems ERP solutions and process automation.
  • Expert in API connections cXML CSV Flat file EDI and other system integration modes.
  • Experience in system configurations as: user accounts roles and permissions.
  • Proven ability to work with IT teams developers and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess process inefficiencies and drive innovation.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills.
  • Proven track record in system improvements and digital transformation.
  • Excellent customer service and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong problemsolving skills with attention to details
  • Advanced in data tools such as SQL Palantir Foundry and coding concepts
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word Outlook Excel and PowerPoint
  • Highly structured with attention to details and result oriented

Key Responsibilities:

The Global Procurement (GP) organization at United Airlines is responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services as well as managing relationships with thirdparty suppliers. GPs role is critical in driving operational efficiency by overseeing the entire procuretopay process and ensuring the strategic acquisition of goods and services essential to the airlines success. We are committed to optimizing costs maintaining supplier quality and ensuring compliance with regulatory and sustainability standards all while supporting operational excellence and aligning with Uniteds broader business objectives.

Procurement Enablement team is seeking a Procurement Systems Product Owner for its Procurement Systems Team to play a key role in digital transformation shaping and optimizing procurement technology workflows and system enhancements. This role works very closely with Coupa as Procurement main ProcuretoPay system as well as other systems in procurement. Key responsibilities include driving tactical improvements prioritizing product features ensuring system functionality and optimizing user experience. This role also involves designing workflows aligned with GP objectives streamlining processes and managing continuous system enhancements to maximize value across the organization.

As a liaison between Procurement IT and business users this individual will work closely with stakeholders to identify pain points prioritize enhancements and drive continuous improvement.

Product Ownership & Enhancements

  • Support to implement procurement system enhancements based on business needs.
  • Define and prioritize Coupa (or any procurement product) features enhancements and system improvements.
  • Act as the first point of contact for system users for troubleshooting issues and support.
  • Work with IT and relevant teams to track escalate and resolve systemrelated issues.
  • Collaborate with IT and developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Continuously assess and suggest opportunities for automation simplification and efficiency gains.
  • Drive user adoption and training ensuring smooth implementation of new features.
  • Work in an agile environment participating in sprint planning backlog grooming and system testing.

Workflow Optimization & Innovation:

  • Support the designing and streamlining procurement workflows to enhance system/product efficiency.
  • Work with crossfunctional teams to implement best practices and suggest process improvements.
  • Ensure that procurement technology aligns with compliance security and business objectives.
  • Monitor KPIs and user feedback to measure system effectiveness and identify further enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation in procurement systems and digital tools.

Leadership & People management:

  • Act as the primary liaison between Global Procurement (GP) IT and business users to ensure procurement system enhancements meet operational needs.
  • Gather feedback from endusers leadership and crossfunctional teams to improve product functionality.
  • Manage and mentor small team set goals provide coaching and mentorship to achieve success.
  • Train and develop individuals and all team members on relevant products systems and tools.
  • Support change management efforts by communicating product updates leading training.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and training to maximize system effectiveness
