Staff Software Engineer Frontend

In this role youll be a key contributor to the evolution of one of the top 50 global websites (Alexa ranking). Youll work closely with other frontend engineers backend engineers product managers and designers to ship features and systems that scale across a massive user base. Youll also mentor fellow developers drive architectural decisions and uphold a high bar for code quality and system design.

What Youll Do: 

• Use JavaScript (a lot! especially modern ES7 standards. 
• Design implement and maintain highquality frontend applications libraries and internal tools. 
• Build new features for a massively trafficked platform everything you do matters and reaches millions. 
• Collaborate on the creation of technical specifications and systemlevel designs. 
• Lead by example through clean maintainable testable code and thorough unit/integration testing. 
• Perform and guide peer code reviews and share constructive feedback. 
• Work closely with backend engineers coordinating API contracts and endtoend solutions. 
• Contribute to agile development cycles regularly demoing completed work on production. 
• Participate in the research and evaluation of new technologies tools and techniques. 
• Provide mentorship and guidance to developers across the frontend guild. 
• Influence and support development standards build tools and CI/CD pipelines. 

Qualifications :

MustHaves: 

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science (or equivalent handson experience). 
• 8 years of frontend development experience ideally building highavailability scalable systems. 
• Expertise in Vanilla JavaScript with strong fundamentals in OOP clean code and design patterns. 
• Proven experience with React along with deep knowledge of Redux and ReduxSaga. 
• Handson experience in HTML5 CSS3 (Flexbox Grid) and preprocessors like SASS/LESS. 
• Solid understanding of the JavaScript ecosystem (NPM Babel Node.js). 
• Comfortable with GitFlow and agile workflows. 
• Knowledge of frontend build tools like Webpack Gulp. 
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using Jest and an understanding of TDD. 
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and how to interact with backend services. 
• Able to communicate fluently in English (B2 both written and verbal. 
• Able to use the command line for everyday development tasks. 

NicetoHaves: 

• Experience with TypeScript or typesafe JS (Flow etc). 
• Handson knowledge of WebRTC WebSockets or realtime messaging/video tools. 
• Experience building for mobile browsers and responsive design. 
• Knowledge of Next.js Chakra UI and Yarn. 
• Familiarity with GraphQL RDBMS/NoSQL or largescale data systems. 
• Understanding of ServiceWorkers streaming technologies and performance optimization strategies.
