We are looking for the next generation of Electronics Test Technicians! Students pursuing a trade school certification in the field of Electronics can learn and earn. This opportunity will allow the right candidate to get handson experience in a production environment enhance their skillsets and ultimately be considered for a fulltime permanent position upon receiving their degree.
Test Technicians setup calibrate test and troubleshoot on a variety of high voltage power supplies and electronic subassemblies to assembly level. They are expected to be knowledgeable in electronic circuitry and have knowledge of variety of testing methods and tools.
Performing routine tasks as directed and under close supervision. Communicates directly with Production Management and Manufacturing Engineering to support a culture of continual improvement.
Test and calibrate high voltage power supplies to ensure completed units meet customer specifications for performance and safety in accordance with Product Acceptance Test Procedures
Troubleshoot and repair high voltage power supplies. Record Functional Data during the various testing phases analyzing results for test validity
Collaborates with Test Engineering to help develop test procedure and strategies
Expected to be able to operate various types of measuring equipment such as oscilloscopes digital meters auto testers signal generators special test fixtures etc.
Must be pursuing a Certification in Electronics from a trade school or an Associates Degree in Electronics Technology
Must understand electronic theory and electrical circuitry basics
Elementary proficiency to read and understand schematics and circuits
Able to work from a written test procedure (ATP)
Computer literate in MS Outlook Word Excel
Our good faith estimate of the wage range for this role is $17 $20. Exact compensation may vary based on skills experience and other factors.
All new hires are required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID at start or must request and be granted a religious or medical exemption.
Technicians work with units that produce high voltage which may also produce xrays. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. In addition the following Personal Protective Equipment is required:
eye safety glasses
hearing protectors
work boots
hardhats
facemasks
We operate from 7:30am 4:30pm typically. Students will work around school schedules and be on site mornings or afternoons.
This position requires onsite presence at Spellman High Voltage Headquarters in Hauppauge NY.
