About the role

The Infrastructure Projects team is a growing group of leads and engineers who manage large Buildout and Relocation initiatives alongside smaller Infrastructure Service Improvement projects. A Senior Infrastructure Projects Engineer needs to be able to work independently when needed while staying in sync with the team consultants and clients. Our primary priority is clear communication and expectationsetting. This team is clientfacing with regular travel so an ideal candidate thrives on being able to communicate highly technical information to CSuite or Executive Suite stakeholders at our Clients. The location for this role is in the California Bay Area.

What is the work like

Our clients in the California Bay Area are showing consistent growth. This manifests as a lot of movement into and out of office spaces. In both of our client verticals we find ourselves:

• Joining OAC calls to work closely with Construction Teams and their subcontractors for pieces that impact Low Voltage and Audiovisual installations.
• Designing ordering and implementing a full network stack (Switching Firewalls and Wireless).
• Tracking down ISPs and walking with them for Site Surveys up through circuit activation.

There is a lot of onsite work but there will be instances where you are doing various remote valueadd efforts (Predictive Wireless Surveys License Renewals Maintenance or PostInstallation Support).

Who are we looking for

We are looking for an IT operations generalist who works well with technical and nontechnical people is interested in improving processes is an adept project manager and has an appreciation for documentation and detailed specs. Going a bit further were looking for someone who will help develop and maintain the standards for the processes we are using and loves working in an environment of continuous improvement. Finally this individual has worked with enough technology be it networking virtualization SaaS IaaS or AV that they can can use foundational basics to pick up new technology and skillsets.

Responsibilities

• Manage and be accountable for the success of small to largescale IT projects such as office moves and network upgrades
• Collaborate with the Infrastructure Projects Team Manager and leads to develop and maintain project strategies and process creation in their scope
• Automate and orchestrate common tasks to drive efficiencies and innovation
• Work closely with both the team and clientfacing consultants to design and implement best practices for project implementation
• Create meaningful documentation to facilitate project handoff to Consultants
• Provide backend escalations support as needed

Requirements:

Should Have

• Solid understanding of Windows Server and onpremise server hardware/network infrastructure
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and how to apply them to design and configure networks such as but not limited to
• Working knowledge of EntraID Office365 Google Workspace and cloudbased storage (Egnyte Box Dropbox etc.
• Experience with new office construction including working with architects and general contractors and subcontractors
• Exceptional planning and organizational ability
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Aptitude and desire to learn new technologies
• Ability to teach and mentor others
• Research products and new technologies to improve project lifecycle
• The physical strength and agility to rack networking compute and storage hardware.
• The ability to wear personal protective equipment correctly for up to a full working day when on an active job site
• The ability to move safely in confined spaces (networking closets for example) and around active construction
• Authorization to work in the USA for any employer

Nice to Have

• Understanding of identity and access management (IAM) fundamentals (SSO SAML OAuth etc.
• Experience with AV design for meeting and conference rooms
• Experience interacting with and using REST APIs
