JOB SUMMARY
Provides semiskilled general labor services associated with landscaping construction maintenance and repair work on facilities fixtures and equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
One 1 year of closely related experience in a field related to delivery service custodial grounds or construction maintenance.
A valid Drivers License accepted by the State of Utah is required at the time of hire. A valid Drivers License issued by the State of Utah must be obtained within six 6 months of hire to operate a County vehicle.
Some Departments may require a current Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Medical Card at the time of hire AND/OR attainment of a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) within six 6 months of hire.
Due to the nature of this position the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
Must receive a verified negative test result on a mandatory drug test before starting in this position. Will be subject to random alcohol and drug testing. May be subject to postaccident and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires extensive physical labor; lifting pushing pulling and carrying objects over 50 pounds (occasionally up to 100 pounds with some assistance): kneeling bending sitting and standing. The work involves exposure to extreme weather conditions dirt dust heat cold chemicals smoke and/or loud noises.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS POSITION
Work schedules and hazards vary. May be required to work holidays nights weekends or special events as needed. May be required to work nontypical hours.
Positions within the Salt Lake County Jail (which is a lockeddown facility) have direct contact with prisoners and may be exposed to stress as a result of human behavior in a jail environment.
