Otak is motivated to find an outstanding Bridge/Structural Engineer to join our team! If you are out of the area and interested in relocating to the beautiful Pacific NW for this opportunity relocation assistance may be provided!
This position is based out of our Redmond WA office.
Our Bridge/Structural Engineer collaborates with multidiscipline engineers planners architects and public and private clients to design solutions for bridge and structure projects of all types sizes and levels of complexity. From designing pedestrian and vehicular bridges; facilities at local state and national parks; community transit services; and site development structures we continually seek the best balance among the demands of form function safety sustainability constructability schedule and budget.
The primary duty of the Bridge/Structural Engineer will include serving as a technical expert in engineering analysis design and construction for structural aspects of projects. Other duties also include the guidance of junior engineers in the performance of engineering tasks and coordination with other disciplines and clients in the interest of collaborative project delivery.
What youll do:
- Design and lead structure engineers/designers/technicians in development of plans specifications construction cost estimates and calculations for bridges and various transportation park and transit related structures in support of both public and private clients.
- Perform design services matching local state and federal design standards.
- Prepare and lead preparation of construction plans using AutoCAD.
- Perform site inspections of structural elements of projects in support of design and construction phases of projects.
- Plan and coordinate projects with limited supervision.
- Assist in assigning duties and schedules to team members.
- Participate and support preparing proposals and project scope schedule and budget.
- Participate in business development based on strong client relationships.
- Provide construction support services.
What you bring:
- Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Registered Civil or Structural Engineer in Washington (or can be obtained).
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in bridge and structural engineering.
- Solid client services and business development skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with various teams throughout the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and current structural software applications.
- Proficiency and familiarity with applicable Codes including AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and WSDOT Bridge Design Manual.
Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience qualifications and work location as well as market and business considerations.
Salary range: $85000 $125000 per year
