Job Description
Excel Engineering Inc. is seeking a teamoriented highly motivated EntryLevel Automation & Controls Engineer for our Mounds View Minnesota office. We offer full service Electrical & Controls System Engineering Consulting services in the US and abroad.

Primary Responsibilities
- Under supervision of supervisor will perform assigned tasks on large control system related projects.
- Develop PLC logic HMI interface logic system communications elementary diagrams control panel layouts and instrument specifications.
- Prepare installation documents technical specifications project work description bid documents and reports.
- Make design decisions within corporate established guidelines procedures and practices. Apply sound basic controls & instrumentation design methods to develop detailed design.
- Travel to client project site as needed to gather information before engineering begins for plant reviews contractor prebid job walks construction kickoff meetings construction observation system checkout and startup and project closeout.
Education
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Chemical Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Institution.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 Scale.
Qualifications
- Interest and experience with computer programming are highly preferred.
- Exposure to electrical design and calculations.
- Exposure to PLC logic HMI interface logic system communications elementary diagrams control panel layouts or instrument specifications is preferred.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) registration or ability to obtain such is highly preferred.
- Willing to travel up to 20 of the time.
Additional Skills Applicable to the Role
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications.
- Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization in a team environment.
- Knowledge of relevant technical software.
- Knowledge of MS Office software products: Word/Excel/Outlook.
