Job Description Summary
Prepare and paint various interior and exterior surfaces. Repair and install drywall and plaster with matching colors and textures. Position duties: 05 office 95 field.
Responsibilities
Perform all aspects of the painting trade in a professional manner. This includes touchups patching and fullroom painting. Perform drywall and plaster repair on interior walls and ceilings as well as exterior surfaces at all times matching the colors and textures of the existing surfaces. Assist with rain leak emergencies including roof and wall patching sandbag filling and placement. Assist the senior painter in maintaining uptodate material and equipment inventories. Assist other trades as requested or situation requires. Perform graffiti removal from walls signs walkways etc.
Required Qualifications
Journey level knowledge and experience in all aspects of painting. This includes surface preparation primers color mix and application. Journey level knowledge and experience using paint sprayers water blasters and various other painting tools and equipment. Ability to work in a variety of physical environments including on ladders manlifts etc. with heights up to 30 feet. Ability to maintain a clean safe area at all work locations including field locations the shop and the break room. Knowledge of safe driving practices as defined by the California DMV and University policies. Demonstrated ability to adhere to safe working practice as defined by industry and regulatory standards. Ability to read write and speak English in order to communicate with all levels of campus community and business contacts. Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
