About the Opportunity
There is an opening in Prof. Soner Sonmezoglus research group for aPostdoctoral Research Associate or Research Scientist specializing in the design fabrication and testing of optical microresonators and silicon photonics components such as waveguides gratings power splitters multiplexers and demultiplexers. The research project will focus on developing an innovative biomedical imaging system to assist in the diagnosis of widespread diseases including cancer.
QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD in Electrical Engineering Applied Physics Physics or a relevant field.
Demonstrated experience in the analysis designs simulations fabrications and measurements of optical microresonators and other photonic components such as grating couplers and waveguides.
Proficiency/familiarity in silicon photonics nanophotonics or related topics.
Background/familiarity with the heterogeneous integration of microscale devices and components (optical electrical and mechanical).
Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Strong publication record in relevant scientific journals.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
