Nationwide Childrens Hospital is seeking board eligible/board certified pediatricians to serve as hospitalists in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). The PICU at Nationwide Childrens spans 54 beds though the PICU hospitalist program focuses primarily on a 24bed unit that provides care to patients with acute critical illness as well as those with chronic technology dependence. PICU hospitalists will work alongside an established group of advanced practice nurses and provide frontline care under the supervision of pediatric critical care medicine faculty and fellows.
The PICU at Nationwide Childrens Hospital provides care for approximately 3000 patients each year across the spectrum of medical and surgical disease. The Division of Critical Care Medicine is home to 27 boardcertified pediatric intensivists and 12 pediatric critical care medicine fellows. In addition to providing outstanding patient care Nationwide Childrens Hospital physicians are engaged in a variety of quality improvement and patient safetythemed projects. There are opportunities to participate in medical education and clinical research projects though scholarly productivity is not required for this position. Candidates must be boardcertified/eligible in Pediatrics.
