Loyola University New Orleans Department of Counseling is inviting applications for a tenure track assistant professor position beginning in the fall of 2025. The Loyola Counseling Department is CACREP accredited in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marriage Couples and Family Counseling. The Faculty are interested in developing a CACREP accredited Addictions Counseling program and the candidate will spearhead this effort with the support of the department faculty.

The faculty in the Department of Counseling train students to be ethical competent effective and thoughtful mental health practitioners. We use handson creative teaching methods that enhance student learning provide a diverse and enriching collection of training experiences during the course of the students academic preparation educate students to be clinically and theoretically competent ensure that students understand the ethical principles and social justice issues associated with counseling and encourage our students to pursue additional training and advanced certification throughout their professional careers. Most importantly students learn who they are. We help them become the best version of themselves while preparing them for a career to help others.

Required Qualifications
In accordance with the Campus Security Act as amended Loyola University publishes annually and distributes to members of the academic community and upon request to prospective (students/employees) anannual security report. That report includes current policies and procedures of the University Police Department for the reporting of campus crimes notifying the campus community of occurrence of campus crimes policies regarding access to campus buildings the enforcement authority of the University Police Officers and their relationship to local police. University policies on the possession use and sale of alcohol and illegal are outlined. The Campus sexual Program and policy is described. Campus crime statistics as defined under this law for the last three calendar years are included. A copy of this report may be secured from the (Office of Admissions) (Office of Human Resources) or from the University Police Department.
