PGLS is looking for a SpanishLanguage Instructorto teach an intensive oneonone course for an adult professional onsite in Los Angeles CA. This position is for a class starting February24 2025 for 6 months.

Requirements

Contract Requirements

  • Educated native or bilingual speaker.
  • 2 years of classroom experience teachingSpanishlanguage to adult Englishspeaking students.
  • 1 year(s) of teaching experience in a smallgroup classroom setting.
  • Must possess the cultural background of the country and geographical region (raised or educated in the country).
  • Familiarity with the communicative approach to language learning ILR proficiency scale levels and OPI assessments is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with various computer platforms including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting software (Zoom Skype MS Teams).
Skills Required

  • Teaching Spanish as a foreign language preferably in oneonone or small group settings.
  • Familiar with teaching with the communicative approach to language teaching.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to assess the learning style of the student and adjust teaching accordingly.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a distributed team.
  • Strong time management andproblemsolvingabilities.
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Theories and practice preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely and provide required services from alternate locations via MS Teams ZOOM etc. as needed.
  • Instructors must be able to work in a harmonious and professional manner with cultures from around the world.
