About the Role

We are building a new team of AI application experts to define and develop our AI solutions from AI observability to autonomous intelligent agents. As an AI Engineer youll help define Cloudflares AI strategy by working on projects such as LLMpowered code generation AI observability and edgeoptimized model inference bringing cuttingedge AI capabilities to our developer platform. Youll collaborate with teams across Cloudflare to build highperformance scalable AI applications that push the boundaries of whats possible on the web.

About the Department

Our team is part of Cloudflares Emerging Technology and Incubation (ETI) team where new bold products are built and released within Cloudflare. Rather than being constrained by the structures which make Cloudflare a successful business ETI leverages our network to deliver entirely new tools and products to our customers. Our most successful endeavors include the Cloudflare development platform which is composed of Cloudflare Workers Durable Objects R2 D1 and many other developer products.

What youll do

As a member of the AI Applications team youll help shape the future of AIpowered applications on our platform. Youll work across Cloudflares stack collaborating with teams to define build and optimize AI solutions that enhance developer experience security and performance. From AI observability to code generation and autonomous agents your work will help drive our developer platform AI capabilities forward.

To this end you will:

• Develop AIpowered tools and integrations that enhance the developer experience such as AIassisted code generation and debugging.
• Design and build AI observability solutions to improve model monitoring explainability and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with internal teams to integrate AI into Cloudflares developer platform ensuring scalability and efficiency.
• Engage with the broader AI and developer community contributing to opensource projects technical documentation and blog posts.
• Work across Cloudflares ecosystem to identify new AI opportunities influence technical direction and drive adoption of AI technologies.
• If applicable to ongoing projects you may also participate in an oncall rotation to support critical AIpowered services.

Youll really feel at home if you have:

• Experience building LLMpowered applications developer tools or agent frameworks.
• Familiarity with Cloudflares developer platform edge computing or AI inference.
• Experience contributing to opensource LLM or developer tools projects.
• Public speaking or developer advocacy experience in the AI or software engineering space
