POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT ONeill SCHOOL OF PUBLIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS (ONeill) INDIANA UNIVERSITY BLOOMINGTON CAMPUS FullTime Lecturer or Senior Lecturer Position in public budgeting and financial management The ONeill School of Public and Environmental Affairs (ONeill) at Indiana UniversityBloomington invites applications for a fulltime renewable nontenure track academic year appointment as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in the general field of public budgeting and financial management. The successful applicant will be expected to teach courses in one or more of the following areas of public financial administration: public economics public budgeting accounting political economy fiscal sociology and/or public financial management. Qualifications include PhD or Masters degree in economics public administration public affairs business administration law political science public policy or related field. Applicants possessing a masters degree only must have significant prior professional experience in public budgeting and public financial management. Lecturer faculty are expected to interact with our diverse student and faculty community focusing on teaching (including course development and delivery and the incorporation of innovative teaching techniques) as well as on teachingrelated service such as student advising and curriculum development. As such we are especially interested in applicants with a record of successful teaching and mentoring of students from many backgrounds (including firstgeneration college students lowincome students racial and ethnic minorities women LGBTQ etc. and an interest in contributing to ONeills programs curricular offerings and service portfolio in ways that enhance diversity equity and inclusion. The standard teaching assignment for Lecturers is six courses per year offered in a mix of undergraduate and graduatelevel courses. Lecturers are eligible for promotions to higher ranks in this track (Lecturer to Senior Lecturer and Senior lecturer to Teaching Professor). Faculty in these tracks are not eligible for tenure but will be considered for promotion and/or longterm contracts no later than the sixth year of appointment. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position start date is August 1 2023.
