The Department of Critical Care Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona is seeking a fellowshiptrained Critical Care physician. Candidates must have a strong commitment to an academic career in Critical Care Medicine including active participation in education research and quality improvement in addition to clinical practice.
The Intensive Care Unit at Mayo Clinic in Arizona is a vigorous recently expanded 48 bed unit that cares for a broad spectrum of adults with medical and surgical critical illnesses in support of a quaternary hospital. We are a multidisciplinary department and value diverse skill sets for the care of critically ill patients with complex needs. Our ICU team cares for patients with solid organ or stem cell transplants cardiovascular surgery advanced heart failure ECMO neurosurgery and neurology and medicalsurgical critical care needs.
Ability to function as a communicative collaborative member of the multidisciplinary multispecialty team is vital. The attending physician is a team leader and expected to uphold the values and professionalism of Mayo Clinic.
Teaching opportunities abound including: Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Fellowship as well as rotating learners from other disciplines academic programs and organizations. Starting inwe will have 2 Anesthesiology Critical Care Fellows.
Research is a key focus for development within the Department. We are currently recruiting for multiple expansion positions and would like to target one as an investigator on track for competitive funding for Critical Care research including clinical trials.

License or Certification:
Candidates must be ABA ABEM ABIM or ABS critical care medicine boardcertified or boardeligible. Candidates residency training may be in internal medicine anesthesia emergency medicine or surgery. Candidate must have experience in multidisciplinary critical care.
