Job Description
Overview/ Job Responsibilities
Sev1Tech is seeking a skilled and experienced Telecommunications Specialist at the Journeyman level to join our team. As a Journeyman Telecommunications Specialist you will play a crucial role in designing implementing and maintaining telecommunications systems to ensure efficient and reliable communication within our program.
Responsibilities:
- System Design and Implementation: Contribute to the design and implementation of telecommunications systems including voice and data networks. Ensure systems meet organizational requirements and industry standards.
- Equipment Configuration: Configure and maintain telecommunications equipment including routers switches PBX systems and other network devices. Implement changes and updates to optimize performance.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve telecommunications issues including network disruptions connectivity problems and equipment malfunctions. Provide timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Network Security: Implement and maintain security measures for telecommunications systems. Monitor for potential security threats and take preventive actions to protect the integrity of the network.
- Documentation: Create and update comprehensive documentation for telecommunications systems configurations and procedures. Ensure accuracy and accessibility of documentation for troubleshooting and training purposes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with crossfunctional teams including network engineers IT professionals and endusers. Collaborate on projects and initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency of telecommunications systems.
- User Support: Provide support to endusers for telecommunicationsrelated issues. Offer training and guidance to ensure users can effectively utilize communication tools and systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a SECRET level clearance
- Bachelors degree in Telecommunications Information Technology or a related field.
- 6 years of proven experience as a Telecommunications Specialist or in a similar journeymanlevel role.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems protocols and equipment.
- Proficiency in configuring and maintaining telecommunications equipment.
- Familiarity with network security principles and best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Certifications in Telecommunications or related areas.
- Experience with VoIP technologies and unified communications.
- Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in the telecommunications industry.
