Job Description

NEARI School is growing and is seeking skilled dependable and motivated individuals to join our team! NEARI School a twelve month day school for learning disabled neurologically challenged and mental health students ages 722 is looking for a Behavior Interventionist skilled at working with atrisk students with behavior and mental health needsCandidates must have the ability to form trusting and supportive relationships apply trauma informed behavioral interventions.The Behavioral Interventionist will be part of a collaborative team and will assist children and youth to increase their skills in school and in the community. Interventionists work directly with individual students to implement their behavior support plans and IEPs. The Interventionist assists with teaching communication motor academic social self care functional living and play skills while assisting to reduce challenging behaviors.The Interventionist will work under the guidance of the Lead Interventionist to implement behavior programs and student support within the school and community setting. Successful candidates will have enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Experience with autism is a plusSuccessful candidates must be able to:Support Student ReRegulation: Work daily with students who may be experiencing behavioral and/or emotional challenges and assist them in reregulating and achieving their full potential within our nurturing and inclusive environment.Collaboration: Collaborate and communicate with staff educational specialists and administrators to implement student programming that focuses on emotional regulation intellectual support and academic success while embodying the core philosophies of NEARI School.Community Presence: Transport and accompany students in the community implementing communitybased engagement that aligns with our educational and behavioral goals.Professional Development: Actively participate in regular meetings for the Student Support implement best practices regarding classroom deescalation and harm reduction and attend all staff training and meetings.Professional Embodiment: Be a role model for students and create a positive culture with coworkers by emulating professional attitude language and communication.Safety and Compliance: Help maintain a safe environment follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.NEARI School is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race color religion national origin pregnancy gender identity sexual orientation marital/civil union status ancestry place of birth age citizenship status veteran status political affiliation genetic information or disability as defined and required by state and federal lawsResponsibilities: Provide behavioral support and intervention to individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop behavior intervention plans Implement behavior support strategies and techniques based on applied behavior analysis principles Monitor and track progress of individuals behavior goals and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care and consistent implementation of behavior support plans Provide crisis intervention and management as needed Administer medication as prescribed and document medical information accurately Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations Complete required documentation including medical records and progress notesExperience: Bachelors degree in psychology social work or related field preferred Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols Familiarity with applied behavior analysis principles and techniques Ability to administer medication following proper protocols and procedures Proficient in medical documentation and record keeping Understanding of vital signs monitoring and reportingPlease note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.Job Type: FulltimePay: $40000.00 per yearBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:
