Southwood Childrens Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is a leading psychiatric and mental health facility in Pittsburg PA specializing in mental healthcare for children and adolescents. This facility offers a range of services including Residential Programs Inpatient Treatment and Family Based Programs to address community needs.
We are currently seeking to add a FullTime Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatristto support our patients receiving specialized psychiatric care.
About the role:
The Inpatient Psychiatrist will be responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy) psychoanalysis hospitalization and/or medication.

Responsibilities
Summary:
- Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
- Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations as well as by corporate facility policy or procedures.
- Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
- Evaluate patients for mental emotional or behavioral disorders.
- Treat or direct treatment of patients utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
- Review and complete medical information for individual care plans documents services and information in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidential documentation compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
- One or more years post graduate degree practice preferred.
- Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Board certification in psychiatry
- Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
