Cantor NE

St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Baltimore is seeking a Cantor. With the Music Director and music ministers the Cantor proclaims the Word through song and leads the congregation in song at Mass facilitating the spirited and joyful worship of the assembly. The Cantor rehearses with the choir weekly and prior to Sunday Mass. At rehearsals the Cantor will provide knowledgeable and creative support to the Music Director and choir. This is a parttime nonbenefit eligible position working 68 weekly hours. Funerals and weddings are compensated separately.

Essential Functions:

• Lead the Congregation in musical worship during Sunday Mass.
• Demonstrate the joy of song in the Eucharistic assembly.
• Participate in occasional extra rehearsals and Holy Week liturgies.
• Be reliable wellrehearsed and wellprepared.
• Sing at special services including funerals and weddings.
• Collaborate with the Music Director to select appropriate hymns and songs.

Range: $22.00 24.00 Hourly
