Who are we looking for
The US West Mining Market is a critical component of GHDs overall growth strategy in Americas. The US West Regionis looking to bring onboard highly motivatedClient Relationship Managers Senior Project Managers and Technical Service Practitionersto strengthen and grow our mining business.
This position will be based in Reno Nevada.

Working with a passionate and engaged leader this position offers a variety of responsibilities including:
Winning Work:
- Develop and execute business strategies and initiatives to expand services to new mining clients as aligned with the North American and West Region Market strategies
- Lead proposal development and contract negotiation to win targeted pursuits
- Formulate and present proactive strategic approaches to the proposal development process which leverage the companys capabilities and value proposition
- Achieve goals identified for business development by working in coordination with Operations to successfully develop and win work
- Maintain a high profile externally and through membership/attendance in industry organizations continually increasing contact base
- Perform data entry into Client Relationship Management database for lead tracking and opportunity information
- Build grow and maintain an active list of large and/or strategic new prospects that will ensure the continuous growth of clients
- Establish and develop strategic longterm relationships with current clients new clients and prospective teaming partners
Project Delivery:
- Manage technical projects: maintaining client satisfaction while ensuring projects are delivered safely and within scope schedule and budget
- Leading best practice project delivery making key technical contributions toprojects andcoordinating the work of team members to deliver creative solutions
- Embracing established project management best practices and advocate for the adoption of standard methodologies within your sphere of influence at GHD
- Directing the project teams administering contractual aspects of the project and have a client facing role
- Working with project managers and project teams to improve job delivery skills within the Mining Business Group
- Directing winning strategies for new proposals and followon work
- Ensure adherence to GHDs QA/QC plans including meeting established Quality KPIs
People:
- Purposeled communications within the Mining Business Group to inspire the team and enhance the Employee Experience (EX)
- Collaborate and mentor with our Young Professionals to provide experience and exposure to a wide variety of projects
- Collaborate within and outside the Region on work sharing and business development
- Embrace the One GHD philosophy by collaborating with teams worldwide to share capabilities and project opportunities
Technical Work:
- Work collaboratively with the team to share knowledge and best practices in delivering technical solutions to our clients diverse set of challenges on mining projects
- Compile interpret and evaluate geological geochemical and hydrogeologic field and analytical data for technical reports
- Assist in the preparation of data tables and figures as required
- Contribute to the preparation of technical memos reports design and other deliverables including but not limited to investigation reports conceptual site model reports and scientific/engineering evaluations.
- Interpret engineering or scientific figures/drawings/plans
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering (e.g. civil environmental geological mining etc. or science (e.g. geology hydrogeology geochemistry environmental science etc. required
- Mining Experience Related to one or more of the following
- Environmental or geotechnical site investigations
- MiningInfluenced Water
- Mine site hydrology hydrogeology and/or geochemistry
- Mine Planning and Closure
- Tailings Management/Design
- Permitting and regulatory compliance experience for the mining industry (air NEPA NPDES stormwater etc.
- Water quality permitting (aquifer protection direct discharge stormwater)
- 10 years of consulting experience
- 10 years of mining experience preferred 5 years of mining experience required
- 5 years of experience in business development capture planning and project for clients and projects
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to develop mentor and lead professional technical staff
- Strong relationship leadership skills and a real passion for developing people within GHD
- Flexible and able to meet challenging deadlines
- A selfstarter with sound judgment and decisiveness
- A standout colleague with a strong client focus
- Experience and/or formal training with project management best practices
- Professional registration (PE PG) a plus but not required
