Job Description
Primoris Heavy Civil is searching for a Party Chief/Surveyor for our Laredo Tx project that will be responsible to provide internal surveying service to ensure construction work complies with design drawing locations. This fieldbased role offers an exciting opportunity to work in land bridge and road surveying. As a Party Chief you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of construction survey data for our projects. You will be responsible for conducting surveys and measurements collecting and analyzing data and providing valuable input to the project team. (Permanent Relocation)
Job Description
Provide internal surveying service to ensure construction work complies with design drawing locations.
General Requirements

- Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.

Functional Requirements
- Provide work control lines and elevations that are required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by crafts (Ex: forms for concrete pours anchor bolts piping hanger and supports etc..
- Provide checking of as built conditions that require the use of surveying techniques.
- Provide topographic and crosssection surveys as required for planning and payment quantities.
- Provide quantity calculations as required.
- Prepare documentation of surveying activities (field books) as built drawings and submit for approval upon completion.
- Maintain condition and adjustment of surveying equipment.
- Coordinate surveying activities with the assigned engineer to meet the construction requirements.
- Accuracy verification of plan drawings.
- Thorough knowledge of and ability to use all the surveying equipment and techniques essential.
- Ability to accurately read blueprints and calculate shapes (geometric etc..
- Perform additional related assignments as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications
- One 1 to four 4 years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level).
- Two years technical engineering/surveying training.
- Postoffer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.

- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.
- Job site safety requirements as required by the client (long sleeves steel toe boots etc..
- Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat safety glasses gloves respirator hearing protection safety harness with lanyard etc..
Physical Requirements
- Must comply with companys drug and alcohol abuse policy.
- Must be able to pass physical examination preemployment if necessary and as required by the company.
- Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders scaffolding stairways etc.
- Stoop kneel crouch crawl or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers vessels excavations etc..
- Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt concrete asphalt mud gravel etc.
- Must be clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment when required.
