Position: Battery Technician
Reports To: Director of Battery Technology
Coreshells metallurgical Silicon anode technology delivers high capacity fastcharging and superior safety. Our lowcost liquidphase nanocoating addresses critical electrodesurface degradation issues and enables batteries with a Silicondominant anode that have higher energy density superior intrinsic thermal safety and significantly lower cost/kWh compared to current LIBs. Our Si anode material is 50 the cost of graphite and 100 domestically sourced. We strive to transform the global automotive market by enabling lowcost and longrange EVs as a first step towards netzero sustainability in the near future.
Core Responsibilities: We are looking for a Battery Technician with battery construction and/or R&D lab experience to carry out battery fabrication assembly and testing. The candidate should be eager to work on cuttingedge technologies that can accelerate clean energy adoption & combat climate change.
Requirements:
Location & Benefits: San Leandro CA. Fulltime. Hourly rate is $26.00 $40.00 per hour with additional stock incentives dependent on experience. Dental vision healthcare and 401(k) benefits are included. Applications will be screened as received.

Core Responsibilities: We are looking for a Battery Technician with battery construction and/or R&D lab experience to carry out battery fabrication assembly and testing. The candidate should be eager to work on cuttingedge technologies that can accelerate clean energy adoption & combat climate change.
- Perform Coreshells inhouse battery fabrication and testing.
- Maintain and calibrate test hardware.
- Work with multiple battery formulations and coating materials; collaborate closely with Coreshells technical team to ensure Coreshells coatings are properly deposited on each battery material.
- With the assistance of the R&D team characterize cells and battery materials using both electrochemical methods & materials analytical techniques.
- Perform cell failure analysis through posttest cell disassembly followed by physical compositional and electrochemical characterization as instructed by engineers and scientists.
- Work with Coreshells cell testing and qualification program including detailed experimental recordkeeping data collection and data management.
- Manage inventory of chemicals and lab consumables.
- Follow and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Comfortable performing manual tasks requiring precision and dexterity.
Requirements:
- Background in R&D lab work is required. Experience working in controlledatmosphere gloveboxes is preferred.
- Background in fabrication of lithiumion batteries is a plus.
- Highly selfdriven detailoriented candidate with a history of problem solving and an ability to wear many hats.
- Familiarity with chemistry lab safety protocols. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining safe tidy and organized work areas.
- Previous experience performing electrical tests as well as chemistry and materials analytical instruments is preferred
- 2 years of experience in the battery industry OR a B.S. degree or equivalent in Chemistry Materials Science Engineering or similarly relevant field.
