Job Description

GAI Consultants Inc. is seeking an Engineer 3 to work with the Power Generation Business Sector on primarily renewable energy projects and when needed other regional projects. GAI Consultants Inc. offers its employees upon approval by supervisors the ability to work remotely or in a hybrid setting. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a teamoriented environment that will utilize their college education and past work experience to develop professionally into a wellrounded engineer with the ability to grow in todays environment. Your responsibilities in this position will include leading civil site work including design permitting construction activities as well as beginning to develop client management and business development strategies.

Job Duties:

  • Work on energyrelated projects with a focus on renewables
  • Lead civil site engineering tasks
  • Interface with clients on civil site tasks
  • Lead assigned project teams
  • Lead development of civil site proposals
  • Responsible for task management on assigned projects (schedules budgets and quality of work)

The candidate will lead civil site engineering tasks including:

  • Site Grading Plans
  • Erosion and Sediment Control Plans
  • Stormwater Management Plans
  • Hydrologic and Hydraulic / Drainage Plans
  • Utility Design and Relocation Plans
  • Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans
  • Geotechnical Investigations
  • Permit Applications (earth disturbance permits building permits land development plans high occupancy permits etc.
  • Access Road Section Development
  • Construction Drawings Specifications and Quality Control Plans
  • Construction Cost Estimates
  • Owners Engineer Support During Construction
  • Field Investigations

General Characteristics

  • Applies broad knowledge of principles and practices in a specific practice area.
  • Independently evaluates selects and adapts standard techniques procedures and criteria.
  • Leads tasks and projects of moderately complex scopes.
  • Develops plans specifications and other project documents.
  • Selects appropriate principles of engineering economics and probability and statistics to analyze risk in a complex engineering problem.

Experience Required

  • 8 years

Education

  • B.S. or M.S. Engineering

Certification/Licensure

  • Professional Engineer (P.E. License reciprocity in multiple states.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Assign tasks to other technical and nontechnical staff. Predominantly plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work.
  • Prepares scopes budgets and schedules for assignments.
  • Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or projects.

Management Responsibility

  • Receives supervision and guidance relating to overall objectives critical issues new concepts and policy matters.
  • Receives direction on unusual conditions and developments.
  • Mentor direct reports and other engineers.
  • Demonstrates professional attitudes relevant to the practice of engineering including creativity curiosity flexibility and dependability.

Communication Skills

  • Possesses advanced oral and written communication skills including interpretation of complex technical and contractual language.
  • Considers the needs of diverse project stakeholders.
  • Leads project meetings and represents the organization in communications pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments.
  • Analyzes and selects principles of formal communication effective teamwork and various pathways to developing leadership.
