Job Description
We are accepting applications for the term position of Grade 4/5 Elementary School Teacher at Tlisalagilakw School. We are a First Nations operated Group Two Independent school with Grades K7 full days. The staff contingent includes the Principal VicePrincipal teachers education assistants cultural workers and support staff.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide inquiry based problem solving based and project based learning opportunitiesUtilize academic programs including Reading Mastery ReadWell Corrective Reading Nelson Literacy and Saxon MathPrepare and deliver long term monthly and daily lesson plan activitiesDevelop and oversee individual learning plans for each student as requiredEnsure that students overall needs for achieving success are metCollaborate with Education Assistants and Cultural Workers regularly and as requiredEnforce the school discipline policyParticipate as a member of the school supervisory and extracurricular teamsProvide written student evaluation reports and attend parentteacher conferencesEnsure that accurate and complete student records are maintainedDevelop and maintain positive relationships with parentsJob QualificationsBachelor of EducationMember in good standing with the BC Teacher Regulation Branch
