Job Summary
We are seeking an Assistant Bridge Inspector to join TYLins Bridge Sector. This position will report to the Principal Bridge. In this role you will be responsible for assisting inspection teams writing reports conducting load ratings creating Maintenance of Traffic plans operating equipment performing nondestructive testing and preparing related documents. This position has a dynamic schedule including a mix of daytime field and office work and occasional nighttime field work. The work environment consists of a mix of onsite field and office/workfromhome. Within a team atmosphere we plan to foster your knowledge and get you prepared and wellplaced to learn and grow!
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Perform DOT routine bridge inspections and lead inspection teams.
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis for the load rating of bridges.
- Familiarize him/herself/themselfwith engineering plans and details.
- Perform quantity takeoffs.
- Assist with project monitoring and scheduling.
- Assist develop production work plans schedules and budgets.
- Other assignments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis or equivalent work experience.
- 0 5 years of experience in bridge inspection and design.
- EngineerInTraining Certification desired
- NBIS Certified Bridge Safety inspector preferred. Taken the 2week FHWA/NHI Bridge Safety Inspection courses preferred.
- Bridge Load Rating Experience is a plus.
- Safety conscious and will be responsible for their personal safety and the safety of their fellow team members
- Familiar with structural design software and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid U.S. drivers license
