Job Description
EMPLOYMENT TYPE : Permanent
SECTOR : Retail
BASIC SALARY : Market related
START DATE : A.S.A.P / Immediate
REQUIREMENTS:
- Matric
- 5 years of Sales Experience as well as solid homeware retail product experience
- 2 years in an Assistant Manager/Manager role
- Valid Drivers License
- Able to maintain consistent punctual and reliable attendance
- High energy levels and strong focus
DUTIES:
- Maximize sales and control expenses
- Stock control and stock take weekly
- Complete store operational requirements by:
- Scheduling and assigning employees
- Following up on work results
- Maintain store staff by recruiting selecting orientating and training employees
- Maintain store staff results by coaching counseling and disciplining employees; planning monitoring and appraising job results
- Prepare annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiate corrective actions
- Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements
- Ensure availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts; maintaining inventories
- Secure merchandise by monitoring security systems and measures
- Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment
- Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements
- Set up effective marketing displays for the sales floor and store windows
- Manage all controllable costs to keep operations profitable
- Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales
- Analyze and interpret trends to facilitate planning
- Respond to customer complaints and comments
- Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Any other duties as and when may be required by Supervisor
- Monday to Friday: 08:00 16:30 or Monday to Friday: 08:30 17:00
- Shift work
