Job Description
- Monitoring Production for Quality Control / Standards:
- Visit production sites to conduct thorough inspection of Jewelry using expertise of gems diamonds metals and jewelry manufacturing and adhering to the companys quality standards.
- Issue orders to factory for production lines as per planned production pipeline
- Support the design team to develop and review sample lines; address quality issues promptly
- Execute quality control best practices to ensure inventory and finished product meet the companys quality standards.
- Manage inspection process to ensure merchandise conforms to the companys quality standards for all product lines.
- Continuously strive to identify and institutionalize new techniques in production; map industry and competition for best practices
- Vendor/Supplier Management
- Scout & select vendors / suppliers based on knowledge of their capabilities performance history quality standards etc.
- Onboard new vendors / suppliers; induct them on the companys norms and SOPs
- Continuously seek best practices cost reduction and process improvement opportunities in partnership with Product Development Design and Category Management
- Leverage knowledge of jewelry manufacturing to challenge suppliers and optimize timelines and costs
- Manage supplier relationships; collaborate with crossfunctional teams on quality payment development and logistics
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to maintain sourcing standards
- Metrics monitoring & control
- Own and communicate supplier development timelines to ensure ontime delivery
- Conduct routine cost analysis to achieve merchandising targets
- Develop and maintains supplier scorecard
- Perform ad hoc supplier risk monitoring
- Ensure effective risk and compliance management
- Administrative
- Maintain seasonal production calendar to ensure deadlines are met
- Serves as a key liaison for day to day sourcing operations and work effectively with crossfunctional teams to meet objectives
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends new suppliers and costsaving opportunities
- Lead supplier audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with ethical standards legal regulations and industry best practices.
Skills Required:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable with figures and in collecting analyzing and interpreting data
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using sourcing software and tools.
- Pulse on the industry in terms of trends competition whats new preferences technology etc.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in supply chain management business administration or a related field. A masters degree is a plus
- 1215plus years of experience in diamond sourcing / gems & jewelry industry
- A strong background in production or sourcing with reputed organizations
- Knowledge about Jewellery Mfg. Trends Category Know How is a must.
- Strong understanding of contract laws regulations and compliance requirements
